SPIT PARTY - A local competitive prototype

You will need one keyboard/controller (sdl2 compatible) per player, in the future I plan to allow splitting the keyboard

- PRESS A/Enter to join
- PRESS BACK/Select/Backspace to drop
- There is NO set limit for number of players
- I tested with SEVEN local players without problems
- F11 to go fullscreen
- Increase/Decrease the initial number of lives by using + and - keys

HOW to play:

- Your objective is to pull your foes into lava 3 times using your body and body fluids
- stick/dpad/arrow keys to move
- A button or Z key to jump
- X button or X key to shoot/spit/poop
- if you die, you will be dropped, please join again
- Every time you enter the game you will be transformed into a different animal with different abilities

Unfortunately it is a bit incomplete, the user interface is barebones, but is playable.

I had no time to create a bot to play in single player, sorry, please find friends :)
Yeah, I know it is hard to find a physical friend these days, but bring some beers and I promise it will be fun!

Credits: Built in python with the pygame library ( <3 ) [ https://pygame.org ], with tilesets, fonts and sound effects by Kenney ( <3 <3 ) [ https://twitter.com/KenneyNL ]. All characters and sprites designed, drawn and animated by myself.

Also: Where was my head when I described this game as "coop" when I really meant "competitive". I think I should rest properly

April 22, 2024 - FIRST UPDATE

- Added a new User Interface to show the player's status in a more user friendly way
- I forgot to display the score before, fixed :P
- player now flashes when it can't be damaged
- F2 to show old barebones UI
- F1 to show collision debug information
